The Dark Side...again
As I was driving to my furthest this morning...(two hours plus about an hour of construction-yuck!!!) I was listening to Imagine Dragons - Demons. I quite like that song and think it hits the mark with its description of the dark side that lies beneath the surface for many of us. I suppose as long as it lies beneath the surface its ok...but every now and then it seems to escape the chains we put on it and BAM! it's out!! The trick is to get those feelings and thoughts under control quickly before anyone notices or anyone gets hurt! But I for one, know that they are there and to me it makes sense why some bad things do happen. I have pretty good control and don't "lose it" very often. But other people don't have the same steely minds. And sometimes when the "Demons" get out it causes havoc. I am reminded of an incident a little while ago where some fellow went "nuts" and caused great havoc and even death. When they asked him later why, he said he just couldn't control it any longer...oooooooo....that's not good.

I mused as to whether this was a relatively new phenomenon or if perhaps this always has been the case. I think it may well be that this loss of control has been around for centuries but today's media makes it sooooo much more available that we hear about it first hand in seconds sometimes. That surely can cause other people to think these thoughts and perhaps encourages them to also lose control when otherwise they would be safer not having heard. So once again the ills of society can be blamed on the media...sigh. It's nice to have someone to blame I guess. But really its us we have to blame. Somehow we need to get these feelings (Demons) dealt with BEFORE we loose them...and that dear friends is our fault if we don't. It doesn't mean hours of counselling for most, just acknowledgement that the potential is there. Temptation to let loose is always present and that's the real problem. Mind you the media doesn't help by blasting it front and centre...but still.

Anyway...just musing as I drive (or rather I was musing, now supposedly working). I am now on a short quest to find more songs like this one that expresses the fear we hold inside. I know there is Pumped up Kicks, but what others??? Help me out here please...

 I like the song as well. I think we all have our own demons to deal with, and it reminds that everyone has something in their life.
And everyone deals with it a little differently.
