500 SHADES OF GREY
500 SHADES OF GREY Not a mistake, a human eye can distinguish between 500 shades of grey – why stick at 50? Though booksellers are doing very well out of E L James’ book Fifty Shades of Grey, almost everyone we know who have read the book have been disappointed. Have you read the book? Did you like it? Given Sylvia Kristel’s death on Thursday, 18 October 2012, it is time for Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele to move over. Sylvia Kristel was most famous for starring in the Emmanuelle film, one of the first mainstream soft porn films. The 1974 Emmanuelle film was based on Emmanuelle Arsan's 1959 book, Emmanuelle: The Joys of a Woman. More than 350 million people worldwide have seen the Emmanuelle film. Have you read the book or seen the film? Fifty Shades of Grey has sold so far 40 million copies worldwide. And Hollywood beckons for the book, but it has a long way to go before overtaking Emmanuelle. Emmanuelle was the forerunner to, and will probably eclipse over time, Fifty Shades of Grey. Eat your heart out Anastasia and Christian! May we tempt you inside for more on Emmanuelle and Sylvia Kristel? |

For vilest things Become themselves in her, that the holy priests Bless her when she is riggish. ~~ from Antony & Cleopatra
