Oh Canada. An Amazing Country Coast To Coast I love my country and have seen much of it. It's a vast nation. Its ten provinces and territories extend from the Atlantic to the Pacific Oceans and northward into the Arctic Ocean. It covers '9.98' Million square kilometres, making it the world's second-largest country by total area. Here are some of the highlights, you should add to your travel itinerary. West Coast – Victoria’s Chinatown  Victoria, British Columbia, has Canada’s oldest Chinatown. Victoria’s Chinatown is also the second oldest in North America. West Coast – Rocky Mountains  The Rocky Mountaineer train takes you through the breathtaking Rocky Mountains from Vancouver 'to' Lake Louise, 'to' Banff and even Jasper, Alberta. The highest peak in the Canadian Rockies is Mount Robson in British Columbia, at ',972 ft'. Central Region – Niagara Falls, Ontario  Niagara Falls is one of the seven wonders of Canada. Did you know that the Falls at Niagara are about ',000' ? Annie Taylor, the “Queen of the Mist” and a school teacher from Bay City, Michigan, was the first person '' travel over the Falls in a barrel on October 24, 1901. People still attempt that perilous journey with varying success. Central Region – Quebec  Quebec City is more than 400 , making it one of Canada’s oldest cities. The city was founded by French explorer Samuel de Champlain in 1608. Its European vibe is evident in its architecture and cobblestone streets. It’s also the only walled city in North America north of Mexico. Atlantic Canada/The Maritimes – Hopewell Rocks  Hopewell Rocks, located along the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick, is home 'to' the highest tides in the world. The Bay of Fundy is also one of the seven wonders of North America. It features the highest (and lowest) tides, rare marine life, as well as semi-precious minerals and dinosaur fossils. Maritimes – Newfoundland  St. John’s, Newfoundland is Canada’s oldest city. It has some of Canada’s oldest buildings, including colourful houses and other buildings that are similar to those found in Spain, Italy and Denmar Newfoundland is also home '' the first Viking settlement site in North America, which is located at L’Anse Aux Meadows, near the northern-most tip of Newfoundland. The people of Newfoundland, affectionately known as 'Newfies' and are the world's friendliest people. |

I enjoyed a business trip to Canada a while back, but Ottawa in February was not the warmest of welcomes - I found folk to be very friendly. One day, I should like to see more of the country amd some of its more liberated female citizens!

Never been to Canada myself. But it has spectacular sceneries. One day, I might just take the train from coast to coast ...

to answer the question, ive been to niagara falls a couple of times as a kid/preteen with family vacations, including once when the american falls was blocked off for preservation surveying. as an adult, ive been to toronto once, to meet a friend of a friend, but really didnt allow myself enough time to fully explore as i did philly/toronto/chicago/back to philly in one week. but i DID see the hockey hall of fame and the stanley cup AND the world cup of soccer trophy (on loan from the holders ittly) and a magnificent tribute to terry fox in the ontario sports hall of fame across the hall from the HHOF. and i talked with people, warm friendly people, wonderful people. happy canada day to the best neighbours we could wish for. "well only get through this if we work together. if we dont, none of us will"

Living in the Detroit area for most of my life, Ontario was a close neighbor. Traveling east, we would 'cut across' from Windsor to Niagara, to eliminate going along the south shore of Lk Erie. On my way to Maine once, I traveled along the north side of the St Lawrence to Quebec. I took the time to take a carriage tour through the city. I've always wanted to take the train from the Soo to Agawa Canyon. Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

I certainly agree with you on the beauty and magnificence of Canada and I have had the privilege of seeing all of the things you have posted except China Town as well as having been fortunate to visit all 10 provinces. My bucket list includes the Territories as well as Torngat Mountains and Kuurujuaq National parks

I have been to Alberta to see Banff National Park (1984) and Ontario and Quebec (1986) to see Algonquin Park and the bluff and plain that was the battle site where the British and French fought in 1759. (Then done into Maine and Acadia and west to Niagra in New York) I enjoyed the mountains of Alberta, but found the agriculture of Quebec and Ontario interesting as it was quite different from the norm in Iowa. I was humbled in Quebec Province when I tried to use my high school French to ask for a road map and the young lady spoke so fast that I did not understand any of it. I apologized in English, saying that my French was not that good.
