Very playful tattoo! I am loving the color, and the gecko theme. I should like to see a picture of it on skin though, it is a bit difficult to imagine.

I dont mind tattoos at all. Some are quite beautiful, artistic, whether they are in colour or in black ink. I believe they should have some meaning to the person as it is your body you are decorating. As for myself, I have none tho I have contemplated getting 2 that symbolize my daughter and myself together, such as our initials entwined together in colour running from one to another such as pink to purple, our fav 'girly' colours. The other 2 small doves, one with her wings closed, the other slightly below the other with wings spread wide. Representing a mom letting her child go free to spread her wings and live her life. I know doves are white but I want them to have a slight blueish turquoise tinge to them.

You've seen mine, and like yours they're in places that I can hide unless I want to show them. And like yours, they have special meanings to me and to those I got them for. I like tattoos and I would get another if I had a reason. Any ideas?

I don't have a problem with anyone having ink on their body. It is, afterall, their body. I have two tattoos. One on the front of my left hip (a miscarriage awareness ribbon with a flower for each baby I lost) and one my back, between my shoulder blades, a heart with wings. The one on my back I had done about 4 months after my divorce was final. Kind of my "celebration" tattoo....I felt I was ready to let my heart soar again. I will have work done on it someday as I'm not completely happy with it. I have a third one planned. But I need my mom to write my kiddo's name in Japanese (I want it in my mom's hand writing.) I can probably get the other parts of the design done now, but I'm not sure if my mom is ever going to be willing to help me get one last tattoo. She hates that I have any. :::sigh:::

defiately not opposed to it just know its a phase at th etime and people do jdge us on it unfortunately

my tattoo has meaning, firehorse because its my birth year, and when l got divorced, I pawned my wedding ring, that money paid for my ink. It's a reminder that no one owns me but me. "To Be Consumed" Blog : I want to be your drug of painful withdrawals.

I have several tattoos, my most recent being the one I got last summer in memory of my dad. I have a design in limbo right now for one I wanted to get in memory of my brother, but I don't know if I will or not. I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do - not yet. All of my tattoos are meaningful to me - I guess everyone says that about their tattoos though, right? I can't even choose a favourite. I have a butterfly on my shoulder blade - that one was my first. My tattoo cherry, freedom and flight and escape. I have my zodiac symbol on the back of my hip, and my tiger lily in manacles on my back. The one on my calf is a lotus blossom with a hummingbird and my dad's initials, which I designed with some help from friends.

Mine is a blue star with yellow "Gold" shading around it with AK in the center. It came about from me growing up as a military brat not really having a home till I had lived in Alaska for 20 years. The next two I will probably get if I can decide on placement will be for mon and dad. Dads will be the green berets motto in Latin and my mothers will be the nurses oath in Latin. Don't compromise yourself! You are all you've got!

This was the very first tattoo I had done. It has no specific story but I like the way the legs cover more skin.
| |||
|
Two tats for now, one on each leg... much more to come when the budget allows it. Both nipples pierced. Both of my tats are one of a kind, and will immediately identify me if someone ever sees them. A friend designed one, and I designed the other. My next one is going on my shoulder.

I loved why you got the gecko tatt. This design looks aboriginal... I have three tattoos and like you, I had my reasons. My first one is of a smiley sun, a really happy sun with a face and ray. I got it after my younger brother died when I was 22 years old. It reminds me of how absurdly happy and content life is when you have a partner in crime. The second one is a celtic design, its a promise to go to Ireland one day. Its my spiritual home even if I've yet to reach it. The third's a vanity. And I won't tell you where or why or when .

I've been thinking about getting a charm anklet tattoo for a few years now. I'm going to have a local (and thankfully really talented artist) design it for me first. I sort of know what I want in my head, but I need to see it drawn. It's a spiritual tattoo related to the earth. My mother would have a heart attack if I told her. She'll hear about it only if I actually get it.

I don't have any tattoos. Just a broken nose from my brother hitting me.LOL

I have 5 rather large pieces that you have seen. Each has their own special meaning much like your gecko. I am working on the designs for 2 more, one for each hip. It will probably take years to actually complete the design the way I want it and get them done. Plus for one I have to wait until the significant life altering even has actually happened before I get the tattoo...lol...I had my nipples pierced for a long time but would never pierce anything else, just too painful. I loved the way they looked but function was more important. I am a huge fan of great art no matter where I find it and I am a firm believer that our bodies are a great canvas.

Tattoo I want one is a blog post on it with some sample designs I've been thinking about. I'm not interested in a bunch, but the one I'm thinking about will have significant meaning for me. I've also been informed that there is a Tattoo convention in Chicago in March 2013. I'm trying to figure if I can wait until then or not. Thanks for sharing a great story!

No tattoos, no piercings, no unusual body mods for me. When I am living now, it seems that all the 20-somethings and 30-somethings are covered in tattoos, men and women. I don't want to stereotype, but it seems to be folks in the lower-income groups. Also the same folks who drink and smoke heavily. That said, I have absolutely no issues with tattoos, when done tastefully. Yours no doubt it. A little ankle tattoo is perfectly good, and I find some to be attractive. Around here, I see tattoos on the upper chest, the neck (and I don't mean the back of the neck), even seen one on someone's ear. Not fond of that. My FWB has one on her lower back (tramp stamp...LO, and one on her ankle. She also added one to her shoulder. All are easily covered, and only visible when she wants them to be. I like them.

Yes, I have eyeliner and lips- the most painful thing I've ever endured and it lasted maybe 2 yrs

Nice story about the gecko. I like tats if they are well done and not morbid. Don't have any because I hadn't really seen or thought of any design that I really wanted and also because it hasn't made it high enough on my list of things to budget for. I believe I have seen a dragon design that is close to what I would like. Now where, how big and how much are the questions. If you see me in the real world, come say "Hi Justskin." I always behave. Preferably not well.

I don't have any tattoos...not because I don't like them simply because I nearly passed peacefully away having my ears pierced!! All of my children have tattoos and they all mean something special to them. ~~Anais Nin~~

My first tattoo is posted as an image on my blog page. I carried the picture around for almost 6 yrs before committing. I have 2 other tattoos and 2 that are makeup tattoos (which I Do Not recommend!)

My son has 4 tats, one of which is a encompasses his entire back...the hands, heart and crown of the Irish Claddagh surrounded by angel wings. One of the wings is fully feathered, the other charred. For him, its so appropriate. He loyally holds the heart those he loves in his strong hands.... And the wings?.. For a time he was an angel with one wing in the fire. Im very proud of him.. can you tell? His spouse (the DD has just as many and both are planning more. Now, mamma also wants one, and has wanted one for ages. I just have to find someone who I feel will do it justice. As some know, I look for dead people in my spare time (lol.. thing genealogy folks... family history) The tat I want is entirely wrapped up in my family history and speaks of how we are all connected. The image is as close as I can find of what it is I want. "You've seen my descent, Now watch my rising!" - Rumi Some women are lost in the fire. Some women are forged from it - Michele K.

I just never found anything that I felt strongly enough that I wanted permanently on my body. I think a tattoo should mean something to the person wearing it, like your gecko. 2022... it HAS be better, right?!

ink doesnt bother me at all. my favorite adult actor has more than her fair share and thanks for sharing the story behind your art. i can totally understand how a switch gets flipped. i have seen my daugher lose her mind over insects that she was fine with a year ago. probably wouldnt be the same with geckos.
