I gave up smoking years ago and am very thankful that I did. The cost of a pack of 25 cigarettes here in Australia is now over $25.
Good for you, $25 that is a lot of money if you added it up.

QUITING IS ONE OF THE HARDEST THINGS I HAVE EVER DONE! AFTER SMOKING FOR 50+ YEARS (STARTED WHEN I WAS 9!) I QUIT COLD TURKEY JUNE 13,2013. AT THAT TIME I WAS DOING 3+ PACKS A DAY AT I THINK THEY WERE 3.89 PER PACK HERE IN GEORGIA BUT WHEN I VISITED FAMILY IN NEW YORK THEY WERE OVER 7.00! WHEN I FIRST STARTED THEY WERE .15 CENTS A PACK IN THE VENDING MACHINE! SAID I WAS GONNA QUIT WHEN THEY HIT 50CENTS-THEN 1.00 THEN 2.00! THEN IN 2013 I NEEDED A SERIOUS OPERATION THAT MY DOC WOULDN'T DO UNTIL I QUIT SMOKING--SHE SAID IT WAS JUST A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY IF I KEPT SMOKING SO I'VE BEEN WITHOUT CIGS EVER SINCE. THE CRAVING IS STILL THERE AND UNTIL YOU MAKE UP YOUR MIND YOU WILL NEVER QUIT! PLEASE WHILE YOU'RE ONLY SMOKING AS LITTLE AS YOU ARE----QUIT!!---- IT HAS RUINED MY RETIREMENT MY HEALTH AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THE ENJOYMENT OF MY 4 BEAUTIFUL GRANDKIDS!! IT CAN AND WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE SWEETHEART!

Thank you, and good for you that you beat it, I am trying, successful or not, at least I am cutting down big time. I honestly would be ok if I only do one cig a day, so far I am still doing ok. will keep it up as good or as minimum as I can.

Willpower! Willpower! Willpower!

Yeah, probably easier said than done, as I have heard from former smokers how hard it actually is to quit. Though nicotine is physically addicting, since you do experience withdrawal symptoms, you have to overcome those with a mental game. "Willpower."

So think...you only get one body, and you have been blessed with a great example of one. Smoking can be SO detrimental to your body, and your health. You obviously care about the upkeep of yours. You'd never think about going out with your hair all greasy, or without a shower for a couple of days, right? Think of smoking as not taking care of yourself like that. Don't give in to the "instant gratification." And just think of those who aren't as fortunate as you, who have to work so hard to get to a nice body...all you have to do is just maintain what you've got, which isn't NEARLY as hard as "starting from scratch."
Get your mind heavily involved. You can do it!

(Ok, I'm pretty good at helping others with motivational speeches....now if someone can help me with my masturbation habit... )

Masturbation habit hahaha...anyhow, I thank you for the courage and kind words, I am actually been doing pretty good, being doing much better than I anticipated, since last Tuesday to today Saturday night, I have only have 2 cigarettes, I none on Tuesday, None on Wednesday, one on Thurs, one last night, and none so far today Saturday. is work in progress, but I am noticing how the urge is going away ever day, is not as much anymore, like last Tuesday and Wednesday, I was even restless. so I am doing good and staying my ground
