I guess there is time/place/need for these encounters.
My partner and I would much rather have a FWB situation with a single straight gentleman. Ongoing for overnight encounters.
Seems to me, as friends.you want to please your partner more with getting comfortable together, learning what works...what each other likes.

I found spare time the other day and decided to go through my phone.
I had names and numbers of people that I could not recall. lol
I rarely give out my phone number, I had ONE person that continually texted even after I told him I was not at all interested.
TheMr and I have disceussed just getting a burner phone for the few we may be interested in talking with.............
How do you handle this??

How many chances do you give someone who continually emails, IM says they want to meet
and nothing
something ALWAYS comes up, if you get any response at all??
Why not just move unto the next interest.?
in my opinion, everyone SHOULD get a 2nd chance. In real life, things do crop up out of nowhere from time to time.
I have seen friends give out so many chanes to ONE< they are potentially cutting themselves off from another encounter that could be SO much more than they anticipated with "the talker" as I call him/her.

I read profiles.
Some are quite well written. These are the ones that intrigue me. These men actually put thought and substance into this.
Others profiles, well, are pretty lame.

Depends on the couple and the rules they set for themselves. Whatever THEY agree to and works for THEM.
Just because a couple PLAYS...........does not mean they may/will play solo.
Why is that so difficult for the extra person to understand. That seems to me, if YOU are not respecting the couples' rules, you will not be allowed into their situation again.
